Yay! Spinning!
Friday, June 26, 2009
So, like I have said earlier, this year is the year of learning new crafts. Crochet and spinning. I think I've got the crochet down pretty good, or at least good enough for only doing it for three months. So now it's time to focus on the spinning. My first attempt was horribly wonky

This morning, I spent about two hours on this, my second ever attempt:

Okay, so it's still not all that great, but it's a little more consistent, and it's much lighter (light fingering?) Super excited to get it done and see what I'll make with it.

I'm not sure what the fiber content is either, can't seem to find the label.

I think you are doing a pretty good job. Learnign to spin is something I want to do to, but haven't gotten the courage to buy the drop spindle yet.

Congratulations on your accomplishments with crocheting and spinning. I crocheted forever and taught myself to knit and have been doing so for 12 yrs now - taught myself to spin after attending a Sheep and Wool festival - now own several spindles and a wheel - I prefer the spindles - just take your time, relax and enjoy. Drafting is a big part of the success of spinning !
